Outlander

Outlander is a franchise of historical romance and time-travel novels by Diana Gabaldon, begun with Outlander (1991; published in the United Kingdom as Cross Stitch). It centers on Claire Beauchamp Randall, a British World War II nurse who, while visiting Scotland with her husband, is transported through time to 1743 Scotland via standing stones near Craigh na Dun.
