Pyotr Demianovich Ouspensky, often referred to as P.D. Ouspensky, was a Russian philosopher and esotericist, born in 1878 and dying in 1947. He is best known for his role as a chief disciple and exponent of the teachings of the spiritual teacher George Gurdjieff. Ouspensky's early work focused on themes of mysticism, occultism, and Eastern philosophies, particularly through his books "Tertium Organum" and "A New Model of the Universe." He traveled extensively in his quest for knowledge, visiting India and other parts of Asia.
