Otrar

Otrar is an ancient city and oasis in Central Asia, historically situated along the Syr Darya in what is now southern Kazakhstan. The site was an important node on the Silk Road, linking Central Asia with the Ferghana Valley and Transoxiana, and served as a local administrative and commercial center within various empires that controlled the region over the centuries.
