Osavaspeaking is the term used in linguistic and ethnographic literature to denote the spoken varieties associated with Osava communities. It refers to the everyday speech patterns, pronunciation, and informal grammar used in ordinary conversation, as distinct from formal or ceremonial or written forms. The term encompasses phonology, morphology, syntax, and discourse practices that characterize Osava-speaking interactions.

Geographically, Osavaspeaking is associated with the Osava region and neighboring linguistic areas, including diaspora communities. It developed from earlier Osavic languages evolving under contact with neighboring languages and trade networks. Documentation of Osavaspeaking dates from early fieldwork in the 19th and 20th centuries, with ongoing description in modern sociolinguistic studies. Estimates of speakers vary by source, but it is described as the community's majority everyday speech.

Phonologically, Osavaspeaking typically features a five-vowel system with vowel harmony conditioned by syllable structure; consonants include stops, fricatives, and nasals with occasional implosives or ejectives in some dialects. Word order is generally subject–verb–object in simple clauses, with flexible constituent order in pragmatically marked sentences. Morphology relies on affixation and reduplication to mark tense, aspect, and mood, while light-verb constructions encode modality.
