Oribatellidae
Oribatellidae is a family of mites belonging to the order Sarcoptiformes, suborder Oribatida, and infraorder Brachypylina. These mites are commonly referred to as oribatid mites or beetle mites. They are small, typically less than a millimeter in length, and are characterized by their heavily sclerotized, often dark-colored exoskeletons. Many species possess prominent, scale-like setae (bristle-like appendages) on their dorsal surface, which contribute to their beetle-like appearance, hence the common name.
Oribatellidae are found in a wide range of terrestrial habitats, including soil, leaf litter, moss, and decaying
