Orenburg
Orenburg is a city in southwestern Russia and the administrative center of Orenburg Oblast. It is located on the left bank of the Ural River near its border with Kazakhstan, in the southern Ural region. The population is around 600,000.
Founded in 1743 as a fortress named Orenburg, the settlement was created to guard the eastern approaches
Economy: Orenburg has a diversified industrial base, including mechanical engineering, metalworking, chemical production, and food processing.
Education and culture: The city is home to several higher education institutions, including Orenburg State University.
