Operativpunktet, often translated as operating point or quiescent point, refers to the specific DC bias conditions of a semiconductor device, such as a transistor or diode. It is the state of the device when no AC signal is applied, representing the DC voltages and currents that establish the active region for amplification or switching. For a bipolar junction transistor (BJT), the operativpunktet is defined by its DC collector current ($I_C$) and collector-emitter voltage ($V_{CE}$), or base-emitter voltage ($V_{BE}$) and collector current ($I_C$) depending on the circuit configuration. For a field-effect transistor (FET), it's typically defined by its drain current ($I_D$) and drain-source voltage ($V_{DS}$).

The choice of operativpunktet is crucial for the proper functioning of an electronic circuit. In amplifier circuits, it determines the bias point along the device's transfer characteristic curve.
