OpenPGPSchlüssel refers to a public key used within the OpenPGP standard. The OpenPGP standard, often implemented by software like GnuPG, provides a framework for encrypting and signing data. When you create an OpenPGP key pair, you generate both a private key and a public key. The private key is kept secret and is used for decrypting messages and signing data, proving your identity. The public key, on the other hand, can be shared freely with others.

Sharing your OpenPGPSchlüssel allows others to encrypt messages specifically for you, ensuring that only you, with your corresponding private key, can read them. It also enables them to verify the authenticity of digital signatures you create. If someone sends you a message encrypted with your public key, you use your private key to decrypt it.
