It is cited as a rare aluminosilicate with a distinctive color and a small set of properties that make it notable within its imagined geology. The name derives from the fictional Oldani region, a mountainous area used as a setting in several narratives.

In the fictional taxonomy, Oldanilike crystallizes in the monoclinic system and forms prismatic crystals. Descriptions give it a vitreous to pearly luster and a color spectrum ranging from pale aquamarine to deep teal. Reported hardness on the Mohs scale is around 6, with a relatively low density and a refractive index near 1.62. It is said to fluoresce faintly under ultraviolet light, producing a green-blue glow in certain lighting conditions.

Geologically, Oldanilike is described as forming in hydrothermal veins that cut through metamorphic rocks in the Oldani foothills. It commonly occurs alongside quartz, fluorite, and micas, and is occasionally found in association with trace copper minerals, according to in-universe geologists.
