Offsettrükivärvid

Offsettrükivärvid are inks specifically formulated for use in offset printing processes. Offset printing, also known as lithography, is a widely used method for commercial printing of books, newspapers, magazines, and packaging. These inks are designed to transfer from a printing plate to a rubber blanket, and then to the substrate (paper, cardboard, etc.). The key characteristic of offset inks is their rheology, which refers to their flow properties. They need to be viscous enough to transfer cleanly but fluid enough to spread evenly.

Offset inks are typically composed of pigment, a vehicle (binder), and additives. The pigment provides the color, while the vehicle, often an oil-based resin or varnish, disperses the pigment and binds it to the substrate. Additives are used to control properties such as drying speed, tack, viscosity, and gloss. Different types of offset inks exist, including heatset inks, which dry by evaporation of solvents with heat, and coldset inks, which dry by absorption into the substrate and oxidation. UV-curable offset inks are also popular, drying rapidly when exposed to ultraviolet light. The choice of ink depends on the printing process, the substrate, and the desired final appearance and durability.
