Odcinam

Odcinam is the first-person singular present tense form of the Polish verb odcinać, which means to cut off, detach, or sever. The verb is imperfective, used for ongoing, habitual, or repeated actions. Its perfective counterpart is odciąć, whose first-person future form is odetnę. The past tense forms include odciąłem (masc), odcięłam (fem), odcięło (neut), and the pluperfect forms odcięli/odcięły.

In addition to physical cutting, odcinać is used in a figurative sense. Examples include odcinanie dopływu prądu (cutting off the power supply), odcinanie dostępu do internetu (cutting off access to the internet), and odcinanie się od pewnych kontaktów (withdrawing from or detaching oneself from certain contacts or networks). The reflexive form odciąć się means to detach oneself or withdraw from something, as in odcinam się od tłumu (I withdraw from the crowd).
