Octei

Octei is a term used mainly in speculative fiction and online glossaries to denote an eightfold system or group. It has no widely accepted definition outside of these contexts.

Etymology: the form combines the prefix octo- meaning eight with the suffix -ei, a sequence commonly found in constructed languages or fictional lexicons.

Typical uses in fictional worlds include an eight-member council, an eight-part calendar or cycle, or a set of eight allied factions; in such contexts, Octei structures are described as balancing forces or unifying networks.

In linguistic or cultural studies, scholars sometimes treat octei as a hypothetical or provisional term for analyzing eight-component social or symbolic systems, not as a real-world category.
