Néftés

Néftés is a concept rooted in natural philosophy, specifically in the theories of Maria Gaetana Agnesi, an 18th-century Italian mathematician and philosopher. The term 'néftés' is derived from the Greek word 'nebhros', meaning cloud, and can be interpreted as an atmospheric or celestial entity.

According to Agnesi, néftés refers to the hypothetical matter present in the atmosphere that was thought to be responsible for the formation of clouds and precipitation. Agnesi proposed the existence of néftés, a caloric substance, as a means to explain why the atmosphere affects the human body. In her scientific work, Théorie des Névraux, Agnesi expands on this concept, describing néftés as an entity that mediates between the physical and spiritual realms.

Néftés was considered a significant aspect of the scientific understanding of the time, as it connected the seemingly independent domains of atmospheric phenomena and the human body. Agnesi's work laid the groundwork for later research on the effects of environmental conditions on human health.
