Nyuserres
Nyuserres, also known as Nyuserre, was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh who ruled during the Fifth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom period. His reign is estimated to have lasted from around 2422 to 2393 BCE, although the exact dates are subject to some debate among scholars. Nyuserres is primarily known from his pyramid complex at Saqqara, which includes a large mastaba and a smaller pyramid. The mastaba, which was originally intended to be a pyramid, was never completed, and the smaller pyramid is believed to have been built for Nyuserres' son, Nyuserre Ini. The pyramid complex also features a mortuary temple and a valley temple, both of which are well-preserved and provide valuable insights into the architecture and religious practices of the time. Nyuserres' reign is relatively short, and little is known about his personal life or accomplishments. However, his pyramid complex serves as an important historical and archaeological site, offering a glimpse into the religious and architectural practices of ancient Egypt during the Old Kingdom period.
