Nyquistdiagramból is a Hungarian term referring to a Nyquist plot, a graphical tool used in control system engineering and signal processing. It represents the frequency response of a system. The plot is generated by mapping the imaginary part of the system's transfer function against its real part as the frequency varies from zero to infinity. The frequency itself is often indicated by a parameter or color along the curve.

The Nyquist plot is particularly useful for determining the stability of a closed-loop system. By analyzing the encirclements of the critical point (-1, 0) on the complex plane, one can deduce whether the system is stable. The Nyquist stability criterion, developed by Harry Nyquist, establishes a direct relationship between the number of encirclements and the number of unstable poles in the open-loop system.

In addition to stability analysis, Nyquist diagrams provide insights into other system characteristics, such as gain margin and phase margin. These metrics are crucial for understanding how robust the system's stability is to changes in gain or phase. Engineers use Nyquist plots to design controllers, analyze system performance, and diagnose potential issues. The graphical nature of the plot allows for intuitive understanding of complex frequency response behavior.
