In furniture fittings, automotive components, consumer electronics housings, and plumbing or power-tool parts, nyloninsats can provide alignment, damping, or sealing surfaces while reducing metal-to-metal wear and weight.

Advantages include corrosion resistance, dielectric properties, and ease of manufacture. Limitations may involve creep under sustained loads, temperature sensitivity for standard grades, and variability in wear depending on mating materials and lubrication.
