Nyiroksejt refers to a type of white blood cell called a lymphocyte. These cells are a crucial part of the immune system, responsible for identifying and combating foreign invaders such as bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens. Lymphocytes are produced in the bone marrow and mature in various lymphoid organs, including the lymph nodes, spleen, and thymus.

There are several types of lymphocytes, each with distinct roles. B lymphocytes, or B cells, are responsible for producing antibodies, which are proteins that neutralize pathogens. T lymphocytes, or T cells, come in various forms, including helper T cells, which coordinate the immune response, and cytotoxic T cells, which directly kill infected cells. Lymphocytes circulate throughout the body via the bloodstream and the lymphatic system, a network of vessels and nodes that helps filter waste and fluid. When a pathogen is detected, lymphocytes are activated and proliferate, mounting a targeted immune response. This complex system ensures the body's defense against a wide range of threats. Disorders affecting lymphocytes can lead to compromised immunity or autoimmune diseases.
