Nukunonu
Nukunonu is one of the three atolls that make up Tokelau, a non-self-governing territory of New Zealand in the South Pacific. It is the southern atoll in the Tokelau chain, along with Atafu and Fakaofo. Nukunonu consists of a ring-shaped coral reef surrounding a central lagoon and several small islets. The main village and most facilities are located along the western coast of the atoll.
The population is small and predominantly Polynesian. The primary language is Tokelauan, with the Nukunonu dialect
Historically, Tokelau came under New Zealand administration in the 20th century and remains a New Zealand territory.
