NuRDmediated
NuRDmediated refers to processes governed by the NuRD complex, a conserved multi-subunit chromatin remodeling machine that combines ATP-dependent nucleosome remodeling with histone deacetylation to repress transcription. The core NuRD complex contains CHD3 or CHD4 (Mi-2 family) as the ATPase remodeler, HDAC1 and HDAC2 as histone deacetylases, MTA1, MTA2 or MTA3 as scaffold proteins, RBBP4 and RBBP7 as histone-binding proteins, and GATAD2A or GATAD2B along with MBD3 as essential subunits. In some contexts MBD2 can substitute for MBD3 in related assemblies.
NuRDmediated transcriptional repression operates through coordinated chromatin changes. Chromatin remodeling by CHD factors reposition nucleosomes, while
Biological roles of NuRDmediated regulation are broad, influencing embryonic development, lineage specification, hematopoiesis, and neural differentiation.
