Nottinghamshire is a county located in the East Midlands of England. It is bordered by South Yorkshire to the northwest, Lincolnshire to the east, Leicestershire to the south, and Derbyshire to the west. The county town is Nottingham, which is also its largest city. Historically, Nottinghamshire has played a significant role in English history, notably associated with the legend of Robin Hood.

The geography of Nottinghamshire is varied. The northern part of the county, known as the Dukeries, is characterized by woodlands and estates, remnants of former royal hunting grounds.
