Northfleet

Northfleet is a town in the Gravesham borough of Kent, England. It is located on the north bank of the River Thames, approximately 20 miles east of central London. Historically, Northfleet was a significant port and industrial center, particularly known for its cement manufacturing. The town's proximity to the river facilitated the transport of goods and raw materials.

The area has a long history of human settlement, with evidence suggesting occupation from prehistoric times. During the Roman period, the region was part of the administrative district of the "Civitas Catuvellaunorum." Later, it fell under Saxon influence. The Domesday Book, compiled in 1086, records Northfleet as a significant settlement.
