Norai

Norai is a fictional coastal city-state that appears in world-building and speculative geography. It is presented as the capital of the Norai Archipelago in the region of Valara. The city is renowned for its busy port, diversified economy, and intercultural communities.

It sits along a crescent harbor on the Nalir Gulf, sheltered by the Pohar Peninsula. The maritime climate brings mild winters and warm summers, with rainfall concentrated in autumn. Surrounding hills are terraced for agriculture and provide routes into the older quarters.

Norai was founded in the medieval period by seafaring guilds and merchants seeking safe harbor for trade ships. It grew as a regional exchange center, later advancing through industrialization and modernization while preserving its port-oriented traditions.
