Nonrekursivní refers to a computational approach or algorithm that does not employ recursion. Recursion is a programming technique where a function calls itself to solve a problem, breaking it down into smaller, similar subproblems. In contrast, nonrekursivní methods solve problems iteratively, typically using loops such as for loops or while loops, or by employing data structures like stacks to manage the problem's state.

The key distinction lies in how the problem's state is managed. Recursive functions rely on the call stack to store intermediate results and function states. Nonrekursivní solutions explicitly manage this state, often by using variables within loops or by pushing and popping elements from an explicit stack data structure.

Nonrekursivní algorithms can sometimes be more efficient in terms of memory usage, as they avoid the overhead associated with function call stacks, which can grow deep in deeply recursive scenarios, potentially leading to stack overflow errors. However, recursive solutions can sometimes offer a more elegant and conceptually simpler way to express certain algorithms, particularly those that naturally lend themselves to a divide-and-conquer strategy. The choice between a recursive and nonrekursivní approach often depends on factors like code readability, performance requirements, and the specific problem being solved. Many algorithms can be implemented in both recursive and nonrekursivní forms.
