Nonemissive

Nonemissive is a term used to describe a substance or process that does not produce or emit light. This is in contrast to emissive materials or phenomena, which actively generate photons. For example, a nonemissive material would not glow or fluoresce under normal conditions.

In the context of materials science, nonemissive properties are often desirable when a component is intended to absorb or reflect light rather than emit it. This is important in applications like optical filters, coatings for displays, or materials used in stealth technology where minimizing light reflection is crucial.
