Nonchalcogens

Nonchalcogens are chemical elements that are classified outside the chalcogen group in the periodic table. The chalcogen group, also known as Group 16, includes oxygen, sulfur, selenium, tellurium, and polonium. Elements that do not belong to this group are referred to as nonchalcogens.

The nonchalcogens comprise various elements from different groups with diverse chemical properties. For example, nitrogen (Group 15), phosphorus (Group 15), and the halogens (Group 17) are considered nonchalcogens. Additionally, noble gases (Group 18) and alkali and alkaline earth metals (Groups 1 and 2) are nonchalcogens due to their different chemical behaviors.
