Nonbenevolence refers to a lack of benevolence, which is the quality of being well-meaning or kindly. It signifies an absence of good intentions or a disposition towards actions that do not aim to benefit others. This concept is often contrasted with benevolence, which is characterized by altruism, compassion, and a desire to do good. Nonbenevolence does not necessarily imply active malice or malevolence, which involves a positive desire to harm.
