Nomining
Nomining is a term used in discussions of blockchain and cryptocurrency to describe the deliberate abstention from mining activity or the removal of mining incentives from a network. The term is largely informal and its precise meaning varies among communities. In some contexts nominating miners refers to a planned transition away from proof-of-work toward alternative consensus mechanisms, such as proof-of-stake, often framed as a policy to reduce energy consumption or environmental impact.
