Nkoya

Nkoya refers to a Bantu ethnic group and language primarily found in Zambia. The Nkoya people are concentrated in the Western Province of Zambia, particularly in the districts of Shangombo, Sioma, and Sesheke. Their traditional homeland is situated in the fertile plains and woodlands of this region, often in proximity to the Zambezi River.

The Nkoya language is a member of the Bantu language family. Like many Bantu languages, it shares common linguistic roots and structures with neighboring languages. While historically it has been a distinct language, its usage has been influenced by the prevalence of other dominant languages in the region, such as Lozi.
