Njene is a small town located in the western part of the central highlands. It serves as the administrative centre of Njene District and falls within the jurisdiction of the Midlands Province. The town is situated approximately 45 kilometres southwest of the provincial capital and sits at an elevation of around 1,250 metres above sea level, which gives it a temperate climate characterised by cool winters and warm summers.
