Niksic

Nikšić is a city and municipality in Montenegro. It is the second-largest urban settlement in the country and serves as the administrative center of the Nikšić Municipality. The city lies in the central-northern part of Montenegro, in the Nikšić Basin and is bounded by mountains on all sides. It experiences a continental climate with hot summers and cold winters, and serves as a regional economic and cultural center.

The economy of Nikšić has an industrial heritage and today encompasses metalworking, processing industries, and services. The city is known for the Nikšić brewery, which produces the well-known Niksicko beer. Historically, the area hosted a large steelworks, Željezara Nikšić; while the plant's status has undergone changes, metallurgy has remained a significant part of the local economy. In recent years, services and small to medium manufacturing have expanded.

Cultural life in Nikšić includes museums, theatres, and regular local events. The city retains historic architecture and traditional religious and secular landmarks.
