Nidji

Nidji is an Indonesian pop rock band from Jakarta that emerged in the mid-2000s and became one of the country’s prominent acts in the genre. The band is known for combining melodic rock guitar work with accessible, radio-friendly pop sensibilities and emotionally charged lyrics. Over the years, Nidji has undergone lineup changes, but its music has remained anchored by strong melodic hooks and anthemic choruses.

The group released its debut studio album, Breakthru, in 2006, which helped establish a national profile and produced several singles that gained radio play and video rotation. Nidji’s popularity expanded beyond traditional album releases when their song Laskar Pelangi was chosen as the theme for the 2008 film Laskar Pelangi, an adaptation of the novel by Andrea Hirata.
