Nichirin
Nichirin, also known as Nichiren Daishonin, was a Japanese Buddhist monk and the founder of Nichiren Buddhism. Born in 1222 in what is now the city of Tokyo, Nichiren was a devout follower of the Tendai sect of Buddhism. He is best known for his teachings on the Lotus Sutra, which he believed to be the ultimate teaching of the Buddha. Nichiren's teachings emphasized the importance of reciting the Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, a mantra derived from the Lotus Sutra, and the practice of shojin, or pure human nature.
