Netthinnearteriene, also known as retinal arteries, are the blood vessels that supply oxygen and nutrients to the retina of the eye. The retina is a light-sensitive tissue lining the back of the eye, responsible for converting light into neural signals that are sent to the brain for interpretation as vision. There are two main retinal arteries, the central retinal artery and the ciliary arteries. The central retinal artery enters the eye through the optic nerve and then branches out to supply the inner layers of the retina. The ciliary arteries, on the other hand, are responsible for supplying the outer layers of the retina, including the photoreceptor cells.
