Nervespecific is a term used to describe something that pertains to or affects specific nerves or nerve pathways within the nervous system. It implies a targeted or localized action, distinguishing it from phenomena that might affect the nervous system more broadly.

In the context of medical conditions, a nervespecific symptom or disease would indicate that the pathology is primarily centered on a particular nerve or a group of closely related nerves. For instance, a nervespecific pain might arise from damage to a single cranial nerve, whereas a more diffuse neurological disorder might involve widespread nerve damage. Similarly, treatments can be nervespecific if they are designed to interact with or modulate the activity of particular nerves or neurotransmitter systems associated with those nerves.

The concept of nervespecificity is also relevant in pharmacology and toxicology.
