Nelitahtimoottorissa
Nelitahtimoottorissa, often translated as four-stroke engine, is a fundamental internal combustion engine design characterized by its four distinct piston strokes per power cycle. These strokes are intake, compression, power, and exhaust. The intake stroke draws a mixture of fuel and air into the cylinder. Following this, the compression stroke squeezes this mixture, increasing its pressure and temperature. The power stroke is initiated by igniting the compressed mixture, typically with a spark plug. This combustion generates rapidly expanding gases that push the piston down, generating mechanical energy. Finally, the exhaust stroke expels the burnt gases from the cylinder.
This cycle repeats continuously, converting the chemical energy of fuel into rotational motion. Nelitahtimoottorissa are prevalent
