Nefrotoxicitás

Nefrotoxicitás refers to the ability of certain substances to cause damage to the kidneys. This can occur through various mechanisms, including direct injury to renal cells, interference with the normal functioning of renal tissues, or alteration of normal metabolic processes.

The nephrotoxic effects of a substance can manifest in different ways, depending on the specific compound and the nature of its nephrotoxicity. Renal damage can range from mild and reversible changes in renal function to severe and irreversible injury, even progressing to acute kidney injury or chronic kidney disease.

Various factors contribute to the nephrotoxic potential of a substance.
