Navigeeriv

Navigeeriv is an Estonian present participle adjective derived from the verb navigeerida ("to navigate"). It means related to navigation or involving navigating and is used to describe objects, systems, or processes engaged in navigation. Morphologically, navigeeriv is formed with the verb stem navigeer- plus the standard adjectival suffix -iv; it agrees with the noun it modifies in number and case, like other Estonian adjectives.

In technical and scientific writing, navigeeriv is employed to characterize features, interfaces, or tasks associated with navigating, such as a navigeeriv süsteem or navigeeriva funktsiooni. However, for the general concept of navigation, native terms navigeerimine and navigatsioon are more common: navigeerimine emphasizes the activity of navigating, while navigatsioon refers to the navigation system or field.

Despite its usefulness, navigeeriv is less frequent in everyday language and can feel clinical or formal when applied to non-technical subjects. It is familiar to speakers of Estonian and is recognized in dictionaries as a standard derivation from navigeerida.
