Nautakalojen
Nautakalojen is a Finnish term referring to cartilaginous fishes. This group includes the sharks, rays, skates, and chimaeras. Unlike bony fishes, their skeletons are made of cartilage rather than bone. Nautakalojen are found in all of the world's oceans, from the deepest trenches to shallow coastal waters. They exhibit a wide range of sizes and shapes, from the small pygmy shark to the enormous whale shark. Their feeding habits also vary greatly, with some species being filter feeders, while others are active predators.
Sharks are perhaps the most well-known of the nautakalojen. They are characterized by their streamlined bodies,
Reproduction in nautakalojen is diverse, with some species laying eggs, while others give birth to live young.
