Nasarawa

Nasarawa is a state located in the North Central geopolitical zone of Nigeria. It was created on October 1, 1996, from the old Plateau State. The state capital is Lafia, and its commercial hub is Keffi. Nasarawa is bordered by eight other states: Kaduna to the north, Plateau to the northeast, Taraba to the east, Benue to the southeast, Kogi to the southwest, and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, to the west.

The state is known for its rich agricultural potential, with major crops including yam, cassava, maize, beans, and rice. It also boasts significant mineral resources, such as tin, columbite, and bauxite. The Benue River and its tributaries form important waterways within the state.

Nasarawa's population is diverse, comprising various ethnic groups such as the Tiv, Alago, Eggon, Gwandara, and Fulani, each with its unique cultural heritage and traditions. The state's economy relies heavily on agriculture, solid minerals, and trade. Efforts are ongoing to diversify the economy and improve infrastructure to foster further development.
