Naruhitos

Naruhito is the current Emperor of Japan. He ascended to the Chrysanthemum Throne on May 1, 2019, following the abdication of his father, Emperor Akihito. Born on February 23, 1960, Naruhito is the elder son of Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko. He studied history at Gakushuin University and later pursued graduate studies at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.

As Emperor, Naruhito's role is largely ceremonial and symbolic, as defined by the post-World War II constitution of Japan. His duties include appointing the Prime Minister, signing legislation, and performing state ceremonies. He has also expressed a desire to continue his father's legacy of engaging with the public and promoting international understanding.

Naruhito is married to Empress Masako, with whom he has one daughter, Princess Aiko. Before his enthronement, he was actively involved in various international initiatives, particularly in the field of water resources and sustainable development.
