Nakoupilo

Nakoupilo is a neuter singular past tense form of the Czech verb nakoupit, meaning to buy up or to stock up. It is used as a predicative form in sentences where the subject is neuter, or in impersonal constructions. In standard past tense, the corresponding forms are nakoupil (masculine), nakoupila (feminine), and nakoupili/nakoupily (plural).

Etymology and construction: nakoupit is formed with the prefix na- added to kúpit (to buy), giving a sense of completing the purchase or accumulating goods. The neuter form nakoupilo therefore marks a completed purchasing action attributed to a neuter noun such as zboží (goods) or zásoby (stock).
