NTT
NTT, short for Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, is a Japanese multinational telecommunications holding company. It is headquartered in Tokyo and one of the largest telecom groups in the world by revenue and assets. The company traces its origins to the Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation, a government-owned monopoly established in 1952 to operate Japan’s national telecommunications networks. In 1985, the government privatized the entity, forming NTT as a holding company and creating a number of regional affiliates. Over the following decades the group reorganized into specialized units, including those responsible for domestic fixed-line services (NTT East and NTT West) and other lines of business.
The NTT Group operates across fixed-line and mobile communications, data services, network infrastructure, and IT services.
NTT is subject to Japanese regulatory oversight by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and
