NTF4
NTF4, also known as Ntrk2 or TrkB, is a gene that encodes a receptor tyrosine kinase. This receptor plays a crucial role in the development and function of the nervous system. NTF4 is activated by neurotrophins, a family of proteins that promote the survival, growth, and differentiation of neurons. Specifically, NTF4 is the primary receptor for brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), but it can also bind to neurotrophin-3 (NT-3) with lower affinity.
Upon binding of its ligand, NTF4 undergoes dimerization and autophosphorylation, initiating downstream signaling pathways. These pathways
