NRMCs
NRMCs, or Nutrient Removal and Management Contracts, are agreements designed to address nutrient pollution in waterways. These contracts typically involve agricultural landowners who agree to implement specific practices to reduce the runoff of nitrogen and phosphorus from their farms into nearby rivers, lakes, and streams. In return for adopting these practices, which can include planting cover crops, establishing buffer strips, or improving manure management, landowners receive financial compensation.
