NENL

NENL, or the North East National League, is a football competition in England. It was established in 1967 and is operated by the Northern Premier League. The league is composed of teams from the North East of England, including counties such as Durham, Northumberland, and North Yorkshire. It serves as a step below the Northern Premier League Premier Division and above the Northern Premier League Division One North.

The NENL operates on a promotion and relegation system, with the top two teams at the end of the season being promoted to the Northern Premier League Premier Division. The bottom two teams are relegated to the Northern Premier League Division One North. The league also includes a play-off system for teams finishing between third and sixth place, with the winner of the play-offs earning a place in the promotion play-offs.
