Näppäinasettelulla
Näppäinasettelulla, often translated as "keyboard layout" or "key arrangement," refers to the specific configuration of keys on a keyboard. This arrangement dictates which character or function is produced when a particular key is pressed. The most common keyboard layout in many parts of the world is QWERTY, named after the first six letters on the top row of the alphabetic keys. Other layouts exist, such as QWERTZ, common in German-speaking countries, and AZERTY, used in France and Belgium. These variations often accommodate different language-specific characters or common typing patterns in those regions.
Beyond alphabetic characters, keyboard layouts also define the placement of numbers, punctuation marks, and special symbols.
