Mäuse

Mäuse are small rodents belonging to the Muridae family. The term "mouse" is often used to refer to any of the many small rodents that share a similar appearance. These animals are characterized by their pointed snouts, small rounded ears, and long, often sparsely haired tails. Their fur coloration varies widely depending on the species and environment, ranging from common browns and grays to black, white, and even spotted patterns.

Mäuse are found on every continent except Antarctica and inhabit a diverse range of environments, including forests, grasslands, deserts, and human dwellings. They are highly adaptable and reproduce prolifically, contributing to their widespread presence. Their diet is omnivorous, consisting mainly of seeds, grains, fruits, insects, and sometimes even small animals.

Socially, some mouse species live in complex social structures, while others are more solitary. They communicate through a variety of vocalizations, including ultrasonic squeaks, as well as through scent marking. Mäuse play a significant role in ecosystems as prey for a wide variety of predators, including birds of prey, snakes, and mammals. In human contexts, certain species, such as the house mouse, are often considered pests due to their ability to contaminate food and spread disease, while others are kept as pets or used extensively in scientific research.
