Märgjahutuskolonni
Märgjahutuskolonn, also known as a wet cooling tower, is a device used to reduce the temperature of water through direct contact with air. This process, called evaporative cooling, relies on the principle that as water evaporates, it absorbs heat from the remaining liquid, thereby lowering its temperature. In a typical märgjahutuskolonn, hot water is pumped to the top and then distributed over a material designed to increase surface area, often referred to as fill. As the water flows down through the fill, ambient air is drawn or forced through the structure. This airflow facilitates evaporation, and the cooled water is collected at the bottom of the tower.
The primary function of a märgjahutuskolonn is to dissipate waste heat from industrial processes or HVAC systems
