Mädakogumite crystallizes in the cubic crystal system and typically forms small, dark brown to black crystals or granular masses.

The mineral is notable for its unique chemical composition and structure. It is part of the ilmenite group, which includes minerals with the general formula A2BB'O6, where A is typically a large cation like sodium or calcium, B is a transition metal, and B' is another transition metal.
