Myristicinins
Myristicins are a group of naturally occurring organic compounds belonging to the phenylpropene class. They are primarily found in the essential oils of certain plants, most notably nutmeg (Myristica fragrans), from which their name is derived. Other plants that contain myristicins include parsley and dill. The chemical structure of myristicins is characterized by a phenyl ring substituted with methoxy groups and an allyl group. The most well-known and abundant myristicin is 5-allyl-1,2,3-trimethoxybenzene.
Myristicins are known for their psychoactive properties, though these effects are generally mild and are often
